When
life comes to a standstill, when no ray of hope can peep in through any angle,
then a single chord of cosmic relation seems to come alive, dissipating all
kind of ordeals. My wife suddenly fell ill, her limbs were paralysed, and went
into a state of unconsciousness. I was baffled and didn't know what
to do. I shouted for my younger daughter's help. She could not comprehend
what was going on and reacted angrily. This was the first time I saw her so
infuriated, and it made me feel more perplexed.
But soon, my daughter came
close to us and apologised; and said she had a good dream that Sai Baba,
wearing a white cloak, had come out from the sea and told her that tough times
were coming and then suddenly disappeared.
My wife was hospitalised,
and from that very day, my daughter started visiting the Sai Baba temple and
brought flowers from there and put them beside my wife's head after swabbing
them all over her body.
My elder daughter too
joined us and started going to the Sai temple regularly.
And one day she took a
part-time job for two weeks to earn some money.
This somehow seemed out of
sync with our changing circumstances and confused me. I sometimes admonished
her but she kept quiet. After two weeks, she received Rs. 2,000 as her salary and
went straight to the Sai temple and offered the money.
I came to know of this
when I received a piece of sweet as prasad from my elder daughter. She kept her
vow as she had promised before the deity of Sai Baba that if her mother got
well, she would make an offering of the first income of her life.
My wife started getting
better day by day by His blessings.
As such, the proverbial
silver lining behind gloomy clouds seemed so true.
Very soon, it was a normal
life with us, but I felt it had attained a new meaning, a serene touch of the
Sai Baba.
